WAAAW world Artists Agency Against War
ASSEMBLY: Against War in the Midst
moderated by Alessandra Pomarico
Hauptplatz Linz
Thu 8. 16:00 - 18:00
~~~
How to abolish War when it has become permanent and planetary?
When it is built in the very infrastructure of our (capitalist, racist, colonial, patriarchal) society, permeating our very nation-states, economies, technologies, border regimes and narratives?
A 4th World War is already happening: a global war against every form of life, in low and high intensities, deployed under different names, each time against a new enemy, responding to interlinked crises that our systems produce, threatening our own very existence on Earth.
Continuing an on-going inquiry, WAAAW invites everyone concerned with the current escalation of war and violence, to participate in a public assembly to think-feel together through the complexities of our present. A space to listen, to witnesses, to reflect with those displaced by war, but also to find a collective response, amplify our agency to revoque, resist and organize.
How can we act together against war?
How to mobilize in defense of life and in solidarity?
How to start imagining peace?
The Assembly is part of a series of colloquia towards Widening our Ecologies of Knowledge: Art, Pedagogy and Community, a research project by Alessandra Pomarico, testing modes of transmission across different cosmovisions - supported by the Italian Council (2022), the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity and the Italian Ministry of Culture.
* WAAAW is an Artistic Agency Against War. War is an unjust odyssey, in its premises and in its outcomes; war makes murder legitimate; war is a spiral at the bottom of which today there is the risk of the extinction of life as we know it.
