Antonella Marino Interviews Alessandra Pomarico, giving an overview of Free Home’s approach and recent activities, focusing on the Corpi+Anticorpi Festival that celebrates the first round of activities planned together with Banzi Highschool in Lecce, including a larger community of teachers, students, newcomers, and the neighbors. Standing on the side of migrants, the article centers on our engagement with displaced people, which was also the core of the learning film that emerged from the 2019 session lead by artists Chto Delat People of Flour, Salt and Water.
The film was presented as a world preview and discussed in 4 public forums/ screenings in Lecce (at Banzi highschool and Cineporto), in Castiglione d’Otranto with Casa delle Agriculture, and at the Castle of Otranto city with Cijaru, a cultural association founded by Francesco Scasciamacchia and Davide De Notarpietro.
3 news reports made by a local TV station Telerama, reviewed our December initiatives: fragments of the performance Anticorpi – concluding the three-month seminar by choreographer and dancer Barbara Toma with the students of high school Banzi (Lecce) along with young asylum seekers from Free Home \ beneficiaries of GUS|Sprar, Lecce; a short interviews with Alessandra Pomarico (FHU) and Antonio Lezzi (Banzi), as well as with artists Chto Delat at Cineporto (Lecce) and Mulino di Comunita' (Castiglione) during the premiere of their new film People of Flour, Salt and Water.
As well as Lecce Cronaca and Corriere Salentino both published their overview of the festival and the film premiere.
